NATIONAL TEQUILA DAY SPECIALS
LA PULPERIA: Both the UES and Hell’s Kitchen locations are offering specials on flights and tastings. Try the Diego tequila tasting for $25 which includes Diego Silver, Diego Reposado, Diego Anejo.
Prefer a cocktail or 3? Order the cocktail flight and get 3 Diego Tequila cocktails for just $25. The flight includes the following specialty cocktails:
- Chilango (Diego Santa tequila blanco, Cointreau, tamarind, La Pulperia spicy sauce)
- La Sandia (Diego Santa tequila blanco, fresh watermelon, Ty-Ku Japanese citrus liqueur, lemon juice)
- Pulperia de Verano (Diego Santa tequila blanco, Torres orange liqueur, fresh pineapple, jalapeno, cilantro, black lava salt)
Sip, savor and enjoy the music of Colombian singer and guitarist Nilko Andreas at the Hell's Kitchen location from 9pm-12am on Friday night or the DJ spinning tunes at the UES location.
LA CONTENTA: Alex Valencia will be serving up a margarita special and flights highlighting the distinctions of Mexico’s terroir at his LES gem. Try the Watermelon Margarita (Dulce Vida, elderflower, jalapeño infused Cointreau, fresh watermelon) for just $8 on Friday.

FONDA: All 3 Fonda locations will be serving up specials on cocktails in their bar areas. Have the Signature Frozen Rosalita for just $7 at the East Village & Park Slope ($8 in Chelsea) and try the specialty limited-time only FreeAmigos made with Casamigos blanco, grenadine, Blue Curacao & ginger beer floaters for $8 in the East Village and Park Slope and $9 in Chelsea.
NO.8: This Chelsea hotspot will be offering an over-the-top "Tequila Trouble" package for $700 that serves 10 guests. The package includes 1 bottle of Casamigos Tequila, Pellegrino Sodas, Carafes of Fresh Pineapple Juice, Fresh Watermelon Juice, Soda, Limes, shooter glasses and a tower of No.8's famous ultimate grilled cheese.
AÑEJO: This National Tequila Day, Chef Angelo Sosa’s Añejo will be offering a complementary tequila flan with any tequila flight purchase at both the Tribeca and Hell’s Kitchen locations. Tequila lovers will not be disappointed when they take a bite out of this boozy treat!
JAVELINA: This Tex-Mex favorite will celebrate by serving 3 new cocktails at a special price of just $10. The newest additions to the Frozen Margarita menu are the Habanero & White Peach and Mango & Mint. Additionally, Beverage Director Christopher Skillern will prepare a new tequila cocktail on the rocks: the Cucumber Tequila Smash is made with with muddled mint and cucumber, lemon juice and pure cane sugar.
CALEXICO: The cult favorite California-style Mexican restaurant, started by the 3 Vendley brothers from California, is offering unbeatable shot specials for National Tequila Day. Stop by any of the 3 restaurant locations for $2 shots of Espolon and Milagro as well as $2 Jello Shots!
FARO: Just in time for the national holiday, this Bushwick newcomer introduces a new summer cocktail. Head there this Friday and be among the first to try Justin Lane Briggs’ Charo’s Kick (Pueblo Viejo Tequila, mezcal, lemon and orgeat (almond-based syrup).
EL ORIGINAL: Martini lovers rejoice! The Mexican martini was born in the late 70’s when a bartender at Cedar Door Restaurant in Austin, was served a margarita in a martini glass on a trip to Mexico. She returned to Texas raving about the drink, and Cedar Door created its own version, adding in olives. The Mexican martini has not only become a Tex-Mex staple, but is also the signature drink of Austin. Though this cocktail is hard to find outside of Austin, Garrett Flanagan has created the Austin favorite for the newly opened authentic Tex-Mex cantina El Original in Hell’s Kitchen.
