LADYBIRD OPENS: Restaurateur Ravi DeRossi and Chef Daphne Cheng, both of Mother Of Pearl, debut a globally-inspired vegetable tapas bar in the heart of Greenwich Village. The 42-seat restaurant also features a beverage program from Ariel Arce with fresh and ingredient-driven low ABV cocktails and a sustainable wine list. Menu highlights include the Gazpacho Trio (honeydew, watermelon and sweet corn) and the Quinoa Croqueta with Szechuan salsa, crème fraîche and micro wasabi. BRUNCH at SOCIAL DRINK & FOOD: The recently opened outdoor rooftop terrace restaurant and bar in heart of Hell’s Kitchen launches weekend brunch on Saturday’s and Sunday’s from 11am-4pm featuring Modern Israeli street food by Chef Gabriel Israel. The menu is divided into Classics and Street Food Fair sections and each brunch dish is served with a complimentary Watermelon Bellini – both at the wallet-friendly price of $18 (a dish + bellini). Highlights include his signature Shakshuka, eggs baked in a spicy tomato sauce with feta and pita and the Complete Malawach Sandwich, agolden brown, flaky fried malawach bread folded to encase a 12-hour egg, tomato, fresh mint, parsley and cilantro, and a quintet of condiments with Israeli pickles are served on the side. TIPSY TEA BRUNCH at TANNER SMITH’S: Have a tea party like Alice In Wonderland with the new weekend “Tipsy Tea Brunch.” This brunch includes any brunch entrée, a choice of either one tipsy teapot like the Bourbon Tea Brunch (Old Forester Bourbon, Benedictine, orange blossom water, habanero shrub, cane sugar, freshly squeezed lime juice, and green tea), two brunch cocktails, two glasses of wine or two pints of beer.
