NEW OPENING

AMADA: Earlier this week, acclaimed chef and restaurateur Jose Garces opened his first NYC, an Andalusian tapas-style restaurant at Brookfield Place in Battery Park City. The AvroKO designed space is vibrant and airy with a lengthy open kitchen. Some menu highlights include Wagyu Brochettes a La Planxa (griddled Wagyu beef skewers prepared on the plancha grill in the rear of the dining room) and Lobster Paella (seafood paella topped with a fava bean salad and smoked paprika aioli). Additionally, Garces is features a pre-order Suckling Pig Program, which is a large format family-style meal of half or whole-roasted suckling pig.  Adjacent to the restaurant is the small Spanish-style café, Amadita. By day go for coffee or a light bite, by night, it transforms into a vinoteca perfect for a glass of wine and bar snacks. Curated by Nacho Monclus, a Spanish native formerly of Socarrat and Lupulo, the extensive wine list at both Amada and Amadita features wines from many regions of Spain. The cocktail menu is inspired by Spanish ingredients and features drinks named after Spanish Director Pedro Almodóvar's films like the Bad Education with apricot infused brandy, Orujo de Hierbas (Spanish grappa macerated with herbs and spices), pineapple, chamomile cordial, and nutmeg; and Kika with gin, Patxaran (sloe flavored liquor from Navarre, Spain), orange, fennel, and Vermouth from Barcelona. Additinally, you'll find many variations of gin & tonics and seasonal housemade Red and White Sangria. View venue details…
