NEW MENUS

TUOME: On Friday, this Alphabet City gem will launch their new low-abv cocktail program. Previously only offering beer and wine, Tuome will now feature a menu of creative cocktails utilizing low-alcohol spirits and liqueurs with drinks, like The Jaded Ginger with sherry and vermouth and the flavorful sake-based Fire In The Sky. Sidle up to the bar for a cocktail, and snack on chef Thomas Chen's complimentary 'Chips & Dip' -- crispy taro chips served with house-made ricotta drizzled with a burnt scallion oil and black sesame. Beverage Director, Teddy Danil has introduced a flight of five different Cosmos ($11), each with it's own flavor and in all the colors of the rainbow. Try one or taste the rainbow, each Cosmo will be $11:

  • Pear Cosmopolitan: Absolut Pear vodka, Triple Sec, Apple Schnapps, lime juice and pear puree.
  • Peach Cosmopolitan: Absolut Peach vodka, Triple Sec, peach puree, lime juice and dash of orange juice.
  • Neapolitan: Absolut Mandarin vodka, Triple Sec, cranberry juice, lime juice and dash of grenadine.

HOUSE OF ANGOSTURA U.S. COCKTAIL CHALLENGE REGIONALS: Last week, 4 semi-finalists went head to head at Seamstress for The House of Angostura’s U.S. Cocktail Challenge Regionals. Pittsburgh brought 2 finalists: Maggie Meskey and Spencer Warren. Megan Arts represented the Midwest, coming all the way from Minneapolis. But it was ‘Julia’s Conundrum’ and ‘The Long Night’ created by NYC’s Aaron Butler of L’Artusi that won the judges hearts. He’ll be competing at Tales of the Cocktail for a chance to go to Trinidad to compete in the Global Challenge. See Butler’s winning recipes below:
